Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Show Me The Money (the “Service”), a web application that provides interactive personal-finance and retirement projections. The Service is operated by Left Tail Consulting Lda (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

Access to the planner requires an account. You can sign in with a one-time email link (a “magic link”) or with Google. You are responsible for keeping your email and Google accounts secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly at hello@showmethemoney.finance if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. The Service

Show Me The Money lets you model retirement and long-term savings outcomes by entering figures such as income, savings, expenses, and life events, and shows projected results that update as you change your inputs. Scenarios you create are saved privately to your account.

5. Not financial advice

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice, and no advisory relationship is created by your use of it. Projections are hypothetical, are based solely on the inputs and assumptions you provide, and do not guarantee any future result. You are solely responsible for the decisions you make. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified financial professional before making any significant financial decision.

6. Plans, billing, and cancellation

The Service offers a free tier and paid subscriptions (currently “Plus” and “Pro”), with prices shown in euros (EUR) on our pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then. Prices may change on a prospective basis with reasonable notice.

Where you are a consumer in the EU, statutory rights of withdrawal and refund apply. Because the Service is digital content supplied immediately, you may be asked to acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once access begins. Applicable taxes may be added depending on your location.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service in breach of any applicable law;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our systems;
• interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service;
• scrape, crawl, or harvest data other than your own;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the Service except as permitted by mandatory law;
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

8. Your content

You retain all rights to the scenario data and other content you enter into the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. You are responsible for the accuracy of Your Content.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, text, and graphics (excluding Your Content), is owned by Left Tail Consulting Lda or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal use in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers to function, including Supabase (hosting and database), Stripe (payment processing), Google (sign-in), and PostHog (product analytics). Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that projections will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable consumer law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Left Tail Consulting Lda will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, savings, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent we are found liable, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or EUR 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably need to for legal, security, or operational reasons. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive. Deletion of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by email or an in-app notice. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Portugal will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that, where you are a consumer, you may also benefit from the mandatory protections and competent courts of your country of residence.
